Job summary

Responsibilities

Job Description

General Summary: The general scope of this position’s responsibility is the management of the cast film production which includes safety, quality, productivity and personnel. Must be able to handle multi-functional tasks and make continuous efforts to improve the efficiency and quality of products produced. Provides direction, guidance and supervision for shift supervisors.

Essential Job Functions
  • Leads and applies Safety, Quality and Productivity priorities.
  • Exemplifies the responsibilities of a Frontline Leader.
  • Sustain and improve 6S principles and housekeeping standards as they have been defined.
  • People development – coordinate training for all production personnel and determine training needed.
  • Evaluate employees skill set and develop plan to improve employee performance.
  • Must hold employees accountable for their job performance (all aspects including safety, quality and production) Accountability – Responsible for performance or non-conformance issues.
  • Implement Corrective Actions to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Work with maintenance on issues that are causing loss of productivity or scrap to repair and upgrade of equipment.
  • Schedule down time and arrange assistance when needed.
  • Continuous Improvement – support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging associates to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
  • Daily 24 hours review – check all lines for performance – rates, repro, running conditions and process conditions.
  • Establish Provide support to Production – On Call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
  • Assist with Setup of New Equipment and MOC.
  • Projects – as assigned from Technical Manager and/or Plant Manager.
  • Review and approve scheduling.
  • Look schedule over and determine if it is scheduled best for high production with low waste.
  • Hiring and staffing – interviewing and selecting potential candidates Perform other tasks as assigned by Manager.
  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.
  • Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of all extrusion and equipment such as blender functions, gauging systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Knowledge of customers and products.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and techniques.
  • Strong computer skills, ability to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Understanding all quality standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Delegation and motivation skills are a must – results driven.
  • Ability to perform work with minimum of supervision.
  • Possess good organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new concepts and develop new methods.
  • Must be a Team player.
  • Ability to read, write, hear and speak English proficiently.
Education and Experience

B.S or Associates Degree and/or minimum of 5+ year’s proven leadership and supervisory experience in a cast film manufacturing environment. Willingness to obtain certification of Root Cause and Corrective Action methods for their application.

Job Qualifications

Understanding of multifunctional operational management. Understanding of industrial mechanical/electrical equipment.
