Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in Garland, TX is seeking a Production Manager to lead production supervisors, oversee schedules, quality, safety, and costs, and implement the company's vision and strategy across the site.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage training and performance, and participate in safety initiatives and cross-functional projects while ensuring timely compliance with all policies.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must have formal training in continuous improvement tools or at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or 4+ years in manufacturing/ops.
  • Must have at least 2 years in manufacturing/ops.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership to production supervisors.
  • Accountable for production/shipping schedules, quality, costs, and employee relations.
  • Analyze and plan for production workforce requirements.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safe use of manufacturing equipment and support safety initiatives.
  • Monitor quality and productivity to meet service and cost objectives.
  • Manage training, performance, and corrective actions.
  • Lead regular communication meetings to drive OPX and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects.

Job description

This position is responsible for managing production processes to ensure attainment of established goals for the facility, division, and Company. This role is responsible for supporting attainment of the operational goals in the production area through the implementation of the company's vision and strategy. This role supports site production, quality, safety, and compliance efforts through continuous improvement activities to ensure all requirements are completed in a timely manner and provides direct management of production supervisors.

Thursday - Sunday, 6:00am - 4:00pm

This position is also eligible for bonus and long-term incentive compensation awards based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Responsibilities
  • Provide direct leadership to production supervisors
  • Accountable for production and shipping schedules, maintaining quality, controlling manufacturing costs, and promoting good employee and community relationships

  • Ensure effective and safe use of manufacturing equipment
  • Support facility safety initiatives
  • Monitor quality and productivity to ensure service and cost objectives are met
  • Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
  • Conduct regular communication meetings with workforce to enhance BMS (Business Management System) and Operational Excellence
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or have at least four (4) years of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
  • Have Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
  • Have at least three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
  • Have prior work experience using timekeeping and/or production control systems
  • Have prior work experience using a safety management system
  • Have previous work experience in a multi-shift operation
