Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions is assisting a manufacturing client in Ohio to recruit a Production Manager for a Union OH facility. The role leads production teams across a new, state-of-the-art site to drive safe, efficient operations and operational excellence.

You will partner with the Plant Manager, build out teams, optimize processes, and report progress to executives, with a focus on on-time delivery, ISO compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-growing metal fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive leadership in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Directly managing floor supervisors, scheduling, and staff development.
• Strong Windows proficiency; experience with visual management and production metrics.
• Excellent coordination, organizational and written/verbal communication.
• Willingness to support off-shifts, weekends, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Production Supervisors, Foremen, and floor staff.
• Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale; track KPIs.
• Plan, assign and manage daily production to meet delivery goals; 95% on-time delivery.
• Guide ISO quality compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Our client, an industry leading metal fabrication and manufacturer, has a direct hire opportunity for a Production Manager to support their Union OH facility!

This is a high impact role within a brand-new, state-of-the-art 500,000+ sq. ft. facility grappling with rapid growth. The Production manager will help build out teams, establish and optimize processes and work closely with the Plant Manager as they continue to establish this location.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Operations: Lead and mentor Production Supervisors, Foremen, and floor staff. Direct coaching, performance management, issue resolution, and hiring/staffing decisions.
• Operational Excellence: Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team morale. Track key performance metrics—including work center utilization, scrap rates, and direct labor efficiency to identify bottlenecks and streamline workflow.
• Scheduling & Execution: Plan, assign, and manage daily production work to meet customer delivery goals and achieve a minimum 95% On-Time Delivery rate.
• Quality & ISO Compliance: Guide floor teams to ensure strict adherence to quality specifications and ISO standards.
• Safety Culture: Promote a proactive safety-first culture, ensuring team adherence to all safety protocols and continuous workplace safety improvements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal training teams, attend daily production meetings, and deliver regular performance progress reports to plant executives.

Role Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in a metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Leadership Capabilities: Demonstrated experience directly managing floor supervisors, workforce scheduling, and team development.
• Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency in Windows environments, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with visual management controls and production metrics tracking.
• Problem-Solving & Communication: Exceptional coordination, organizational, and scheduling skills with a track record of resolving complex operational challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication across all organization levels.
• Flexibility: Willingness to support off-shifts or weekend needs when necessary, with occasional travel as requested.
