PQ Corporation is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily operations at our Arkansas facility. You will oversee furnace, spray dry, and shipping activities, ensuring on-time production while meeting safety, quality, and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in chemical manufacturing with 3+ years of supervision, a technical degree, and strong communication and analytical skills to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance across the site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • 3 years supervisory/management experience.
  • 4-year degree in technical field or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety rules.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and RC14001.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production operations in Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping.
  • Ensure resources (raw materials, packaging, personnel) meet orders.
  • Maintain quality control of production units.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure environmental control per permits and regulations.
  • Support ISO 9001/RC14001 initiatives and safety activities.

Job Description

The Production Manager is empowered to make decisions and take actions as required to meet daily and long-term goals and requirements. The Production Manager works under minimum supervision in a team environment to oversee production operations and plant personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervises production operations in Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping
  • Assure appropriate resources are in place (raw materials, packaging materials, people, etc…) to meet production orders.
  • Maintains quality control of production unit(s).
  • Maintains safe working conditions and practices.
  • Assures environmental control of facility as required by permits and regulations.
  • Communicates problems, instructions, observations, and information to others as needed.
  • Participates in plant-wide quality, HSES, and productivity initiatives.
  • Supports, implements, and participates in ISO 9001:2000 and RC14001 activities.
  • Participates on Safety Committee.
  • Participates in HSE activities (i.e., Toolbox meetings, Accident investigations, Near misses, etc.).
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Comply with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the chemical industry in a manufacturing environment
  • 3years of supervisory/management experience with increasing responsibility
  • 4-year college Degree in technical field and/or equivalent job experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations
  • Familiarity with management systems such as ISO 9001 and RC14001
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.

EHS Responsibilities
  • Communicates, promotes and personally demonstrates Safety/Health (including PQP Principles) as #1 priority
  • Participation in risk assessment audits as applicable
  • Understand PQ Principles (PQP) and how they are implemented in the site organization, rules and procedures
  • Completes HSE training requirements identified for the job in a timely manner
