PQ Corporation is seeking a Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations and personnel in a dynamic chemical production environment. The role focuses on meeting daily and long-term goals with limited supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Ideal candidates will have extensive chemical industry experience, supervisory background, and a strong commitment to EHS and continuous improvement, working within ISO and RC14001 frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the chemical industry in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of supervisory/management experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and RC14001 standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production operations in Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping.
  • Ensure resources (materials, personnel, etc.) are available to meet production orders.
  • Maintain quality control of production units.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices.
  • Ensure environmental compliance per permits and regulations.
  • Participate in plant-wide quality, EHS, and productivity initiatives.

The Production Manager is empowered to make decisions and take actions as required to meet daily and long-term goals and requirements. The Production Manager works under minimum supervision in a team environment to oversee production operations and plant personnel.

  • Supervises production operations in Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping
  • Assure appropriate resources are in place (raw materials, packaging materials, people, etc…) to meet production orders.
  • Maintains quality control of production unit(s).
  • Maintains safe working conditions and practices.
  • Assures environmental control of facility as required by permits and regulations.
  • Communicates problems, instructions, observations, and information to others as needed.
  • Participates in plant-wide quality, HSES, and productivity initiatives.
  • Supports, implements, and participates in ISO 9001:2000 and RC14001 activities.
  • Participates on Safety Committee.
  • Participates in HSE activities (i.e., Toolbox meetings, Accident investigations, Near misses, etc.).
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Comply with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the chemical industry in a manufacturing environment
  • 3years of supervisory/management experience with increasing responsibility
  • 4-year college Degree in technical field and/or equivalent job experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations
  • Familiarity with management systems such as ISO 9001 and RC14001

Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Communicates, promotes and personally demonstrates Safety/Health (including PQP Principles) as #1 priority
  • Participation in risk assessment audits as applicable
  • Understand PQ Principles (PQP) and how they are implemented in the site organization, rules and procedures
  • Completes HSE training requirements identified for the job in a timely manner
