Job summary

PQ is a leading global provider of silicates, silicas and derivative products. The Production Manager oversees furnace, spray dry and shipping operations, with authority to allocate resources and drive daily and long-term goals while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

You will lead plant personnel, ensure quality control, participate in environmental, health, safety (EHS) initiatives and ISO RC14001 activities, and report to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the chemical industry in a manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of supervisory/management experience with increasing responsibility.
• Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations.
• Familiarity with management systems such as ISO 9001 and RC14001.

Responsibilities

• Supervises production operations in Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping.
• Assure appropriate resources are in place (raw materials, packaging materials, people, etc...).
• Maintains quality control of production unit(s).
• Maintains safe working conditions and practices.
• Assures environmental control of facility as required by permits and regulations.
• Communicates problems, instructions, observations, and information to others as needed.
• Participates in plant-wide quality, HSES, and productivity initiatives.
• Supports, implements, and participates in ISO 9001:2000 and RC14001 activities.
• Participates on Safety Committee.
• Participates in HSE activities (i.e., Toolbox meetings, Accident investigations, Near misses, etc.).
• Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.
• Comply with company policies.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Description
