ProTech is seeking a Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations in a fast-paced facility in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and controlling production to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality output.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, and experience with lean manufacturing and ERP systems. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, continuous improvement, and cross-functional teamwork.
The Production Manager plays a crucial role in planning, organizing, and optimizing the manufacturing process to ensure efficient production, high-quality products, and a safe working environment. The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production process within a manufacturing facility. Their primary role is to plan, coordinate, and control the manufacturing operations to ensure that products are produced efficiently, on time, and according to quality standards.
Oversee the daily operations on the production floor, monitoring the activities of workers and ensuring that production processes are running smoothly. Provide guidance, resolve issues, and make decisions to maintain productivity and efficiency.
Ensure creation of production schedules, considering factors such as resource availability, production capacity, and customer demand. Determine the optimal sequence of operations and allocate resources accordingly.
Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that products meet the required standards. This involves inspecting production output, analyzing quality data, addressing non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. This may involve implementing lean manufacturing principles, optimizing production workflows, and utilizing new technologies or methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity, and support the introduction of new equipment.
Track production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency, productivity, and quality of the manufacturing process. Analyze data, generate reports, make data-driven decisions to improve performance, and address any variances from standards. Provide regular updates to management on production status, issues, and improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with other plant leadership and departments such as engineering, procurement, customer service, and logistics to coordinate production activities, address technical issues, standardize processes, and optimize supply chain processes.
Organize departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations. Lead and manage production team. Establishes and implements team/individual objectives, including the measurement and documentation of the progress of each employee toward the established goals. Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and encourage continuous skill development.
Implement and maintain a culture of safety, quality, accountability, collaboration, high performance, and that embraces the values of honesty, trust, respect, and integrity.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business (or equivalent professional experience) with 3 to 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
Proven manufacturing business and operational acumen.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing and delivering improved cost, lead time, and quality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with ERP system utilization.
Project Management Certification preferred.
Experience supporting a Quality Management System business strategy and ISO Certification preferred.
