The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role leads production teams, maintains quality and safety standards, optimizes resources, and drives continuous improvement to maximize productivity while minimizing costs and downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Monitor production performance, quality, efficiency, and labor utilization to achieve operational goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and team members to foster a high-performing workforce.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to optimize production processes.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory to support uninterrupted operations.
- Analyze production metrics and prepare reports on productivity, quality, downtime, and costs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Manage staffing, labor scheduling, overtime, and workforce planning.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and operational planning initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or production experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles preferred.
