Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a degreed Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer to oversee production operations under the Profit Center General Manager. The role focuses on cost, quality, and delivery, with emphasis on safety, training, and continuous improvement across assigned operations.

You will lead shifts, ensure training, work with cross-functional teams, and drive improvements to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising in manufacturing.
• B.S. Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field or Business Administration preferred.
• Two to five years in manufacturing supervision.
• Ability to communicate with employees in group or individual meetings and maintain records.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong troubleshooting experience with automated manufacturing equipment and/or robotics.

Responsibilities

• Assign employees to meet production schedule demands.
• Ensure training meets safety and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with setup, QA, and Manufacturing Engineering to meet requirements.
• Track performance and provide timely feedback.
• Provide counseling or disciplinary action per policy.
• Review and approve timecards daily; provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering.
• Audit quality and compliance to established methods; take corrective action.
• Lead continuous improvement activities and 5S in area.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and robotics.
• Coordinate with other functions to meet plant schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Are you a degreed Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer with a desire for a career in Operations Management? Under the supervision of the Profit Center General Manager, supervise assigned hourly employees on production operations. Responsible for the control of Cost, Quality and Delivery for assigned operations. Responsible for ensuring proper training and compliance with Safety and Quality Standards as well as Company Policies and Procedures. Must maintain team leadership and interactive communication with employees for assigned areas of responsibility. Leads continuous improvement projects for assigned areas or as directed by the Profit Center Manager. Identifies, recommends and implements process improvements and modifications. Works cross functionally as required to support business objectives as a supportive team member.

What you will be doing:

• Assign employees as required to ensure compliance with production schedule demands
• Ensure all employees have sufficient training and instruction to satisfactorily meet the Safety and Quality requirements for all assigned operations.
• Works closely with employees including set-up personnel and Quality and Manufacturing Engineering, to ensure requirements are understood and met.
• Tracks employee performance to established standards and Company requirements and provides feedback on performance within a timely manner.
• Provides employees with counseling as necessary or corrective disciplinary action per Company Policy.
• Reviews and approves assigned employees timecards daily. Responsible to provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering on method or rate issues.
• Audit employee’s quality and compliance to established work methods. Provides feedback or corrective action if necessary.
• Lead continuous improvement activities for assigned areas of responsibility. Ensures proper housekeeping is maintained in their area and ensures compliance with 5S goals.
• Troubleshoots and resolves mechanical issues related to automated manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinates as a team member with other Production and support functions to ensure compliance to plant schedules. Professional department is a key factor in maintaining employee morale and must be maintained at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Profit Center Manager.

What we are looking for:

• Experience in supervision in a manufacturing environment required.
• B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or other applicable Engineering Discipline required or a degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Two to five years in manufacturing supervision.
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees in group or individual meetings on such matters as departmental goals, work assignments, quality, safety, manufacturing problems, attendance, work performance, discipline, training, etc, and to maintain related records.
• Ability to meet deadlines and schedules in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong troubleshooting experience with automated manufacturing equipment and/or robotics preferred.
