Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for improving, maintaining, and repairing all equipment used in manufacturing and distribution functions by troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Support and execute plant-specific maintenance strategies to achieve key plant performance goals.
- Partner with Maintenance Leadership to review production goals, schedules, and maintenance requests to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Support planning, scheduling, and maintenance activities.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment.
- Follow all regulatory guidelines and maintain accurate records for compliance.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance of manufacturing systems/equipment, including instrumentation, mechanical, and equipment repair.
- Provide 24/7 automated process monitoring and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Work with the Maintenance Planner to manage supplies, order parts, and interact with vendors.
- Perform Preventative (PM), Predictive (PdM), and Corrective Maintenance to maximize machinery lifespan.
- Train and guide other technicians on basic maintenance of complex equipment.
- Maintain troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical skills.
- Report unsafe or damaged equipment and recommend repairs or replacements.
- Oversee contractors as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Leadership.
- Practice 200% safety accountability for self and others.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Experience in maintenance and electrical work in a food manufacturing setting is a plus.
- Skilled in Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs.
- Proficient with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and develop effective repair plans.
- Skilled in using electrical testing devices.
- Preferred: Associates degree or certification in a technical field, Mechatronics Certifications (Levels 1-7).
- 5-7 years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical component maintenance, repair practices, and preventative maintenance.
- Certified in various PLC programming languages.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of SQF, GMPs, LOTO, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering on projects and equipment redesigns.
- Working knowledge of mechanical components, office tools (MS Office), blueprints, schematics, and basic machining equipment.
- Understanding of computer theory, PLCs, and VFDs.
