Job summary

Allegion seeks a Machine Operator to set up and operate production machinery, perform quality checks, and maintain production records in a fast-paced environment. You will follow detailed procedures, handle repetitive tasks, and collaborate with engineers and quality control to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, familiarity with machining tools, basic computer skills, and flexibility to adapt to evolving processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Familiarity with machining techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to use machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively.
  • Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate basic production machinery following detailed instructions and established procedures.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as loading/unloading parts on machines, attaching components, and operating hand tools.
  • Conduct basic equipment checks to ensure machinery and tools are operational.
  • Follow step-by-step instructions for machine setup and operation.
  • Perform routine quality inspections using basic measurement tools (e.g., rulers, tape measures).
  • Identify and segregate defective parts for supervisor review.
  • Maintain accurate records of production counts and defect reports.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and utilize PPE.
  • Perform basic equipment checks (e.g., ensuring tools are operational).
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, engineers and quality control to address challenges and improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and assist with cross-training and overtime as needed.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to report issues and provide updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
