Job description

Job Purpose

The Production Machine Operator is responsible for operating various production machines to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate all types of tools and machines necessary for the job, including forming, punching, cutting, and other sheet metal machines, as well as hand tools.
2. Use blueprints to select appropriate tooling and operate machinery to produce quality products.
3. Utilize control programs on machines to create parts.
4. Select the proper thickness and gauge of material as specified by shop documents.
5. Perform visual inspections of parts before and after operations, following inspection procedures to meet quality standards.
6. Secure and band materials when transporting parts.
7. Understand routing processes and input/retrieve information on a computer.
8. Perform tasks safely, efficiently, and productively according to company policy.
9. Contribute to team efforts to produce quality products safely and efficiently.
10. Maintain regular and timely attendance; work mandatory overtime as required.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the company.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, based on experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Accurately use precision measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, squares, and protractors.
• Read blueprints effectively.
• Basic math skills, including converting decimals to fractions and vice versa.
• Operate computerized and automated equipment.

Training:

• Orientation and company-provided training, including but not limited to:
• LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) training
