Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation in Illinois is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Operator to run automated machinery and support continuous improvement initiatives.

You will follow verbal and written instructions, perform setup adjustments, monitor operations, ensure product quality, maintain logs, and work safely with team members on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of manufacturing operations experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform basic math and follow safety procedures.
  • Able to learn, understand and adhere to all applicable safety precautions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery following verbal and written instructions and standard work instructions.
  • Make routine adjustments and set-ups of equipment for measurable variables such as length, temperature, or process speed.
  • Load raw material into the machine, complete minor changeovers, monitor machine operations, and inspect parts to ensure job specs.
  • Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift.
  • Maintain activity logs.
  • Participate in cross-training with other related positions.
  • Support and participate in the company's management and quality system, including continuous improvement efforts.
  • Notify group leader or supervisor of any problems or non-conforming product.
  • Support and implement the Environmental policy as it pertains to work activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Physical Demand (Special Considerations)

Long periods of sitting or standing. Require excellent visual acuity to identify visual defects and manual dexterity to handle small components. Operator may lift materials weighing mostly under fifteen pounds.
