Aerotek is hiring Production Associates for the Colonial Heights, VA area. The role focuses on manual final packaging in a high-volume facility. You will assemble boxes, pack final brick bags and instructions, and prepare products for shipment on a fast-paced assembly line.

Expect to stand long shifts, rotate through stations, and support line performance. Benefits include weekly pay and standard company benefits. This is a contract-to-hire position onsite in Colonial Heights, VA.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of production or manufacturing experience.
• Experience on an assembly line and performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to stand for 8–10 hour shifts.

• Ability to lift up to 33 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Demonstrated 1–2 year tenure with limited job movement.

Responsibilities

• Manually assemble boxes and pack final bags, instructions and materials for shipment.

• Assist in basic cleaning and report equipment issues.
• Keep a tidy, organized work area per facility standards.
• Perform all line positions including packing, material handling, and basic machine operation.
• Contribute to accurate production reporting and meet performance targets.
• Monitor quality and report any defects promptly.
• Support continuous flow by minimizing unplanned downtime and adapting to changes.
• Participate in TPM, 5S, QA checks, and line release audits.

PRODUCTION ASSOCIATES | COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA | EARN $21.42/HR

Job Description

This role focuses on manual final packaging operations in a high-volume, state-of-the-art production facility. You will assemble boxes, pack final brick bags and instructions, and prepare products for shipment while working on a fast-paced assembly line. The position requires consistent attention to quality, adherence to performance standards, and collaboration with peers to maintain smooth, efficient production.

Responsibilities

• Manually assemble boxes and pack final brick bags, instructions, and other materials into packaging prior to shipment.

• Work on an assembly line, standing shoulder to shoulder with peers, performing repetitive packing and assembly tasks for 12-hour shifts.

• Rotate through various stations on the production line while maintaining a constant flow of product with minimal downtime.

• Keep machines in good condition by supporting basic cleaning activities and reporting any issues or abnormalities.

• Maintain a tidy, organized, and clean work area in accordance with facility standards.

• Perform all positions required on the production line, including packing, material handling, and basic machine operation as assigned.

• Ensure accurate and timely production reporting for the assigned line, following established performance measures and documentation standards.

• Meet standard hourly production results and contribute to achieving daily and weekly performance targets.

• Monitor product quality and ensure that all quality requirements are met, reporting any issues or detected failures promptly.

• Support continuous flow of the line by avoiding unplanned downtimes and responding quickly to changes in production needs.

• Participate in line operation reporting activities such as TPM, 5S, quality assurance checks, and line release audits.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of experience in production or manufacturing environments.

• Previous experience performing assembly line and repetitive tasks.

• Ability to stand for extended shifts (previous experience standing for 8-10 hour shifts).

• Experience in packaging, production, and working with production equipment.

• Ability to lift products up to 33 pounds safely and repeatedly.

• Demonstrated job tenure of 1-2 years in previous roles with limited movement between jobs.

• Consistent employment history without unexplained large gaps.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using RF scan guns for inventory and product tracking.

• Knowledge of labeling processes and warehouse inventory procedures.

• Exposure to general labor and warehouse production environments.

• Understanding of quality standards and warehouse quality inspection processes.

• Basic knowledge of packing operations for Level 1 Final Pack Operators.

• Specialized knowledge of packing tasks as skills progress.

• Basic knowledge of material handling (Materialist) responsibilities.

• Willingness to start at entry-level responsibilities regardless of prior experience and progress through defined knowledge levels.

• Flexibility to work on different lines or departments and adjust start times (e.g., between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.) as needed.

• Ability to work within a structured career path that includes progression in job roles and responsibilities.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with crisp, constant performance measures.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with peers.

• Commitment to learning the specific production processes and standards used in the facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.42 - $21.42/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
