Job Summary

The Production Line Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the manufacturing or assembly line to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. This role involves leading and coordinating a team of production workers, monitoring workflow, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The Production Line Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a productive work environment, improving efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervision and Leadership:

    Provide leadership in the form of guidance, training and support to other production associates and temporary associates. Provide feedback to the production team on scheduling and allocating tasks to ensure balanced workloads and timely completion of orders.

  2. Production:

    Works well within a team. Assembles and packs goods of basic to moderate complexity with little to no supervision. Assists Junior Production Line Supervisors in troubleshooting production difficulties and setting up lines. Able to run one or two production lines simultaneously while maintaining the highest quality of product. Familiar with basic production practices and principles. Able to understand basic or moderately complex BOMs. Controls all materials applicable to the assigned project during production. Promptly and accurately reports production information as required. Leads OnQ employees and temporary employees for assembling and packing goods. Reports counts by master kit and subkit type as required. Alerts management to unsafe conditions in the warehouse. Runs machinery required to pack and secure goods, with proper training. Works efficiently with staging and preparing packed goods and parts. Operates a pallet jack and other banding and handling equipment for the movement and shipping of goods. May be called upon to be trained/certified in the use of a forklift. Utilizes a Computer for e-mail, MS Excel, MS Word, and other online reporting programs. Assists with cleaning up and packing jobs in the warehouse as needed. Works overtime as needed to manage workload as directed. Ensures that production schedules are met and shipments to customers are completed on time. Works with other leads to improve processes and safety.

  3. Scheduling:

    Assist in maintaining accurate records of daily production to ensure timely deliverables. Coordinate with Project Managers and the Shipping team to ensure projects meet shipping deadlines. Utilize Smartsheet for requests and project tracking.

  4. Quality Control:

    Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all deliverables meet company standards. Conduct random checks on orders to ensure accuracy and quality. Train team members on quality control practices and the importance of accuracy.

  5. Process Improvement:

    Analyze departmental processes and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline operations. Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall provisioning operations. Identify process improvements and document processes related to provisioning.

  6. Communication:

    Work within the provisioning team to communicate provisioning activities, including volumes, delivery times, and team performance. Communicate effectively with the provisioning team and other stakeholders regarding operational updates, issues, and improvements.

This is an in-office position in our brand-new Akron facility.

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
