Job summary

States HR CO is seeking a Production Line Leader in Corona, California to oversee daily operations, drive safety, and ensure efficient, quality production. You will supervise operators, coordinate with Maintenance and QC, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in manufacturing/production management is a plus.
  • Experience leading a production line or supervisory role preferred; strong leadership and teamwork required.
  • Knowledge of quality control practices and safety standards is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Production Line Staff: lead and motivate operators and technicians on the line.
  • Ensure Production Targets are Met: monitor daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Ensure Quality Control: collaborate with QC to maintain product quality and address issues.
  • Troubleshoot Production Issues: identify and resolve equipment breakdowns or process inefficiencies.
  • Maintain Production Standards: adhere to SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Other Departments: work with Maintenance, Warehouse, and QC for smooth flow.
  • Monitor Equipment Performance: oversee equipment use and report issues to maintenance.
  • Train and Develop Staff: provide training to staff for safe and efficient work.
  • Track and Report Metrics: monitor KPIs and report to management.
  • Enforce Health and Safety Standards: promote a safe work environment.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: participate in lean or optimization projects.
  • Manage Shift Transitions: ensure smooth handovers and continuous production.

Job description:

The Production Line Leader is responsible for overseeing and leading the daily operations of a production line, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a focus on team coordination to ensure smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Production Line Staff:Lead and supervise a team of operators and technicians on the production line, ensuring they are properly trained, motivated, and aligned with production goals.
  • Ensure Production Targets are Met:Monitor the production process to ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly production goals are met efficiently, without compromising quality or safety.
  • Ensure Quality Control:Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) team to maintain consistent product quality throughout the production process. Implement corrective actions when necessary to resolve quality issues.
  • Troubleshoot Production Issues:Identify and resolve production problems (e.g., equipment breakdowns, supply shortages, or process inefficiencies), minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Maintain Production Standards:Ensure adherence to production schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Other Departments:Collaborate with other departments, such as Maintenance, Warehouse, and Quality Control, to ensure seamless production flow and effective resource management.
  • Monitor Equipment Performance:Oversee the proper use and maintenance of production equipment. Ensure that all machinery is functioning optimally and report any technical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Train and Develop Staff:Provide training and development opportunities for production line staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
  • Track and Report Metrics:Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality rates, and downtime. Report progress to management and recommend improvements.
  • Enforce Health and Safety Standards:Ensure all team members comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe work environment. Promote a culture of safety on the production floor.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives:Participate in continuous improvement efforts, such as lean manufacturing practices or process optimization projects, to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Manage Shift Transitions:Oversee shift changes to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and a continuous flow of production.
Qualifications:
  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in manufacturing or production management is a plus.
  • Experience:Minimum of [3] years of experience in a production environment, with at least [3] years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • In-depth understanding of production processes and equipment.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to [25] lbs. and perform physical tasks as required by the production line.
  • Comfortable working in environments that may involve noise, heat, or other industrial conditions.
