Job description

Job Summary

Lead the production line with a hands‑on approach. The Line Lead must be able to clearly communicate tasks, provide direction, and set expectations for the team. This role requires holding team members accountable for their performance, addressing issues as they arise, and ensuring the line stays on schedule and operates efficiently throughout the shift. Additionally, the Lead is responsible for cleaning and quality‑checking machinery and performing diverse duties to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area by adhering to all company safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment; promptly report and address any safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Manage daily production activities, assign tasks, and motivate team members for the assigned line.
  • Ensure production goals are met, including targets for output, quality, and efficiency for the assigned line.
  • Perform manual operations such as line feeder, filling, labeling, packing, capping, palletizing, and sealing.
  • Operate each line and machine, performing necessary adjustments to machinery and mechanical equipment (e.g., belts, bolts, tension rods, rollers) to troubleshoot, control, and adjust machine settings and minimize downtime.
  • Train new employees, provide ongoing support, and help team members improve skills for the assigned line.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout production and report any deviations or non‑conformance issues to the Production Manager and Quality Team immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify and address production issues and, when necessary, escalade to management.
  • Assist with line changeovers, ensuring smooth, accurate transitions between production orders (POs) to minimize downtime and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and adjust machines as needed.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Ensure all paperwork and documentation are filled out clearly, correctly, and in full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, including the ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and team objectives.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office or relevant time and attendance applications.
  • Consistent punctuality and reliable attendance.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred to support team communication, safety, and on‑the‑job training.
Physical Requirements
  • This position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or manipulate objects, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The role also involves periods of sitting, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, including occasionally lifting items above shoulder level.
  • Employees must also be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, employees may frequently be exposed to airborne particles, varying noise levels, and moving mechanical parts.
