Job summary

Parker Plastics, Inc. (PPI) is a private manufacturer of plastic bottles and containers seeking a Production Manager for the Maryland plant in Hagerstown. The role leads production supervision, scheduling accuracy, and safety compliance in a hands-on environment.

Ideal candidates will have a technical background and proven management experience to drive change and improve performance across the plant, reporting to the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years in a production manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Plastics and/or Blow Molding is a plus.
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, problem-solving methods.
• Knowledge of OSHA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, manufacturing systems and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, and other database systems.
• Experience with employee relations and discipline processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4 direct reports and 125 indirect reports.
• Ensure accurate scheduling and maintain inventory levels.
• Drive machine efficiencies, training, and safety compliance.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost-effective manpower use.
• Hold daily meetings to communicate objectives with supervisor teams.
• Coordinate with scheduler, customer service, quality, warehouse and maintenance to meet requirements.
