Job summary

Fresh Healthy Habits is seeking a Production Lead to direct daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time output in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will supervise production staff, coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Sanitation, and other teams to resolve issues and keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

Job Summary

As a Production Supervisor at Fresh Healthy Habits, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating daily production activities to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, on time, and according to our quality and food safety standards.

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising production employees, monitoring workflow, achieving production goals, controlling labor, reducing waste, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Sanitation, and other operational teams to resolve issues and keep production running effectively.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader and problem-solver who can maintain high standards while working in a fast-paced, changing production environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily production activities and production employees to achieve established production goals.
  • Ensure production schedules are completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and on time.
  • Assign employees to production lines and work areas based on production requirements, staffing levels, skills, and priorities.
  • Monitor labor utilization, productivity, production output, downtime, waste, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coach, train, and develop employees while providing clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and accountability.
  • Ensure employees follow established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, quality, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Conduct and support pre-shift meetings, safety discussions, production updates, and employee communications.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure products meet established quality, weight, packaging, labeling, and specification requirements.
  • Identify and address production bottlenecks, equipment issues, staffing challenges, material shortages, and other operational problems.
  • Partner with Quality and Food Safety to address product quality concerns and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance regarding equipment problems, repairs, and preventative maintenance needs.
  • Monitor and control product waste, rework, labor costs, and production efficiencies.
  • Complete and maintain accurate production records, reports, employee documentation, and other required paperwork.
  • Ensure proper line setup, changeovers, shutdown procedures, and end-of-shift activities.
  • Support investigations into production, quality, safety, or employee-related issues and assist with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, workflow, employee performance, and overall production processes.
  • Perform other production and supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table

Experience: Previous production supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in food manufacturing, fresh food processing, produce, or a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, train, and hold employees accountable while building a positive and productive team environment.

Production Knowledge: Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling, workflow, labor utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Food Safety & Quality: Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, quality standards, and safe work practices within a food production environment.

Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to quickly assess production challenges, staffing issues, equipment problems, and workflow disruptions and implement practical solutions.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with production employees, management, and other departments.

Organization: Ability to manage multiple production priorities, employees, deadlines, and changing operational requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Results-Oriented: Ability to monitor performance and drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, labor efficiency, waste, and on-time production.

Technical Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and production or manufacturing systems. Ability to accurately complete production reports and documentation.

Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Sanitation, Human Resources, and other departments to achieve operational goals.
