General Stamping & Metalworks in South Bend, IN is seeking a Production Lead to train employees to departmental standards and oversee machine operation. You will ensure training documents stay current and assess worker skills while reporting to the Production Supervisor.
The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, CPR/First Aid certification, and strong communication skills. A shift premium is offered and the company highlights excellent wages and benefits.
The Production Lead has the responsibility to train employees to defined departmental standards, job routings, departmental best practices and company policies. This is a working position and machine operation is required.
It is expected that tasks and requirements will change from time to time and employees will be asked to respond as needed and within reason.
The Production Lead reports directly to the Production Supervisor. There are no direct reports associated with this position. The Production Lead will have the authority to direct work of others whenever the Production Supervisor is not present in the department. They will also have the authority and responsibility to temporarily stop and correct a safety or manufacturing-related concern.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to produce coherent written documents, maintain an optimistic and supportive attitude, and maintain the strictest confidence regarding all issues and information regarding the company’s operations, its employees, financial matters, and personal matters of which the employee may become aware in the course of their work. The individual will also maintain competency with the following programs and equipment:
Minimum of three years of experience within a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in metal fabrication or related industry . 2 Years or more experience running Press Brake Machines is preferred
