Position Summary: 2nd shift Production Lead (Shift: 3:30pm - 2am)

The Production Lead is a hands-on role that is critical in leading the Production Team to contribute to the highest levels of Safety, Quality, and Performance standards within the manufacturing environment. The Production Lead is cross-trained in multiple tasks to increase contributions to the organization, enhance production flexibility and readiness, while also providing job enrichment and growth opportunities to incumbents. The role supports the Production Supervisor by ensuring timely and accurate production according to processes, procedures, and customer specifications. It also involves coaching production associates, serving as an expert in production processes, and training new and refresher employees.

Responsibilities
Personal and Work Environment SAFETY is achieved through:
  • Following all safety procedures, GMPs, performing risk assessments, and using PPE as required.
  • Inspecting and caring for vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Demonstrating and training proper safety techniques.
  • Ensuring completion of safety trainings and incident reporting.
  • Investigating safety incidents and near misses.
  • Performing employee-level LOTO on production equipment.
Personal and Work Environment QUALITY is achieved through:
  • Following Out of Specification procedures.
  • Identifying and solving quality and mechanical problems.
  • Training new employees on safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Working with GMP and hygiene requirements in food manufacturing.
Production and Efficiency:
  • Verifying lot and item numbers, tracking schedules, and recommending changes.
  • Completing production and quality paperwork.
  • Reducing waste and overuse of materials.
  • Operating line equipment and ensuring adherence to run rules.
  • Assisting maintenance, promoting safety, and managing labor utilization.
  • Supporting staffing, training, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Enforcing food safety PPE/GMP requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma; 2-year technical degree a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including tablets and iPads.
  • Leadership experience and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work on the factory floor, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in cold, humid environments.
Physical and Environmental Factors
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, and loud noise.
  • Work primarily on the factory floor.
