Position

Production Lead

Responsibilities
  • Champion a Safety Culture using JCI tools and best practices and participation in JCI programs and committees. Empower employees to take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others. Safety Awareness includes training new or existing employees on proper processes/equipment, knowledge of JSA’s, PPE usage, 5S, and all safety regulations in the facility.
  • Drive Improvements to Metrics. Monitor departmental activities to meet requirements for Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Customer Service, Production Cost, and Inventory Management. Track scrap rates, productivity, on-time delivery, and standard hours. Collaborate with the Quality department to resolve Customer Complaints and supplier issues.
  • Coordinate with other departments and management to determine daily work assignments to meet customer requirements. Adjust priorities as needed to respond to customers’ needs promptly. Assign daily tasks and define realistic objectives while considering time constraints and resource availability. Manage bottlenecks to improve workflow, reduce work-in-process, and optimize capacity.
  • Continuous Improvement. Develop time-efficient solutions, use data-driven analysis to identify root causes, and drive changes supported by engineering to distinguish value-added activities from non-value-added ones. Strive to improve the production process and overall performance.
  • Coaching and Teamwork. Serve as a floor champion to foster teamwork, high morale, and achievement of goals. Maintain professionalism under stress, develop a team-oriented culture, and communicate goals to the manufacturing team. Provide cross-departmental alignment and escalate personnel issues to Human Resources when needed.
  • Flexibility. Available to work overtime or move between shifts for training or coverage as needed. Lead or participate in meetings with urgency to meet expectations.
  • Technical Proficiency. Use computer systems and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and ERP) to look up production orders, input key parts into inventory, and utilize the system as a production tool.
  • Material Handling and Setup. Perform material handling, setup, and other departmental tasks as required.
  • Other assignments as directed by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Some training and/or supervisory experience desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead change in a team environment.
  • Ability to build effective teams and think creatively.
  • Collaborative style with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle ambiguity while making effective decisions. Capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate unique solutions.
  • Ability to quickly learn the organization’s structure, policies, resources, and information sources.
  • Ability to train new employees and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures in English.
