Job summary

Lyons Magnus in Westlake, OH is hiring a Production Lead to train operators, cover breaks, assist with special runs, and help keep a clean, productive manufacturing floor. This role reports to the Production Manager and requires strong mechanical aptitude, precise English documentation, and the ability to support multiple lines.

The position offers a daytime-evening shift 1:45pm–12:00am, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays, OT and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read and understand English-language recipes, instructions, and documentation.
• Ability to lead up to ten employees.
• Strong technical knowledge of production equipment and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor processing and packaging line performance to support safe, efficient production.
• Train line operators on safe, efficient, and quality operating procedures.
• Provide coverage for processing and packaging operators during breaks or special runs.
• Operate and support production equipment including cooks, fillers, downline packaging equipment, and material-handling equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas per GMP and safe food-handling policies.
• Assist with troubleshooting to reduce downtime and support productivity.
• Report concerns to the Production Supervisor and submit work orders when needed.
• Lead up to ten employees and ensure accurate production labeling and reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

A member of the Production Department, a food service division at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California. The Production Lead is responsible for training operators, providing break and absence coverage, supporting special production runs, assisting with troubleshooting, and helping maintain a clean, organized and productive work environment. The lead will escal safety, maintenance, quality, personnel, scheduling, and productivity issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, accurate English-language documentation skills, and the ability to support multiple production lines as operational needs change. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. This position reports to the Production Manager

Pay Range: $23.50 - $27.00 per hour + shift differential

Hours: 1:45pm - 12:00am

Schedule: Monday - Friday + occasional Saturdays

(Must be willing to work OT and Weekends)

Core Responsibilities:

• Monitor processing and packaging line performance to support safe, efficient, and quality production.
• Train line operators on safe, efficient, and quality operating procedures.
• Provide coverage for processing and packaging operators during breaks, absences, or special production runs.
• Operate and support production equipment, including cooks, fillers, downline packaging equipment, and material-handling equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with GMP and safe food-handling policies.
• Assist production personnel with troubleshooting and issue resolution to reduce downtime and support productivity.
• Report safety, maintenance, equipment, personnel, scheduling, or productivity concerns to the Production Supervisor and submit work order requests when needed.
• Assist operators with equipment cleaning and verify that equipment is thoroughly detailed.
• Ability to lead up to ten (10) employees.
• Generate and verify production labels using approved labeling software.
• Prepare and submit production reports documenting issues that affect production lines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong technical knowledge of production equipment and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Effective verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage time, organize work, and adjust priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to tolerate high-temperature and humid working conditions while performing job duties safely.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong mathematical skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to read and understand English-language recipes, instructions, and documentation.
• Accurately enter information into RedZone.
• 3-5 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with RedZone and Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
