Job summary

Lyons Magnus Inc. in Westlake, OH, a production role in a manufacturing environment, seeks a capable Production Lead to train operators, cover breaks, support special runs, and help troubleshoot production lines.

This position reports to the Production Manager and requires strong mechanical aptitude and detailed documentation in English. Hours are 1:45pm–12:00am, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays; pay range $23.50–$27.00 per hour plus shift differential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read and understand English-language recipes, instructions, and documentation.
• Accurately enter information into RedZone.

Responsibilities

• Monitor line performance to support safe, efficient production.
• Train line operators on procedures and safety.
• Provide coverage for operators during breaks and special runs.
• Operate and support production equipment (cooks, fillers, packaging, material-handling).
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work areas per GMP and food-handling policies.
• Assist with troubleshooting to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
• Report issues to Production Supervisor and submit work orders.

A member of the Production Department, a food service division at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California. The Production Lead is responsible for training operators, providing break and absence coverage, supporting special production runs, assisting with troubleshooting, and helping maintain a clean, organized and productive work environment. The lead will escalate safety, maintenance, quality, personnel, scheduling, and productivity issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, accurate English-language documentation skills, and the ability to support multiple production lines as operational needs change. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Pay Range: $23.50 - $27.00 per hour + shift differential

Hours: 1:45pm - 12:00am

Schedule: Monday - Friday + occasional Saturdays

(Must be willing to work OT and Weekends)

Work Environment: Production Environment within a Manufacturing Facility

Core Responsibilities

• Monitor processing and packaging line performance to support safe, efficient, and quality production.
• Train line operators on safe, efficient, and quality operating procedures.
• Provide coverage for processing and packaging operators during breaks, absences, or special production runs.
• Operate and support production equipment, including cooks, fillers, downline packaging equipment, and material-handling equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with GMP and safe food-handling policies.
• Assist production personnel with troubleshooting and issue resolution to reduce downtime and support productivity.
• Report safety, maintenance, equipment, personnel, scheduling, or productivity concerns to the Production Supervisor and submit work order requests when needed.
• Assist operators with equipment cleaning and verify that equipment is thoroughly detailed.
• Ability to lead up to ten (10) employees.
• Generate and verify production labels using approved labeling software.
• Prepare and submit production reports documenting issues that affect production lines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong technical knowledge of production equipment and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Effective verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage time, organize work, and adjust priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to tolerate high-temperature and humid working conditions while performing job duties safely.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong mathematical skills.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
