Job summary

Specialty Building Products (SBP) is seeking a Production Team Lead to join our VALUES-based organization. Compensation starts at $21.50 per hour, based on experience and skill level.

You will focus on leading the production area, mentoring new employees, and driving process improvements with cross-training support. Responsibilities include ensuring station readiness, coordinating with the Supervisor on material needs, and promoting a culture of safety and quality across the team.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in doors or millwork preferred.
• Carpentry knowledge helpful in production settings.
• Experience in building materials distribution is a plus.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Supervisor to identify items needed for coworkers to complete daily tasks.
• Mentor new employees within the production zone and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with keeping workstations stocked with consumables and participate in taking weekly inventory of raw materials used in the department.
• Work with Supervisor to identify items needed for co-workers within the department to complete their daily tasks
• Mentors' new employees within production zone to adhere to production policies and procedures.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for all processes and procedures within their production area, making themselves available for cross training and serving on teams that require their expertise.
• Studies and recommends new procedures to improve efficiency of processes and procedures.
• Advises Production Supervisor on training progress and performance concerns of employees within their areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Manufacturing experience of doors (Plus)
• Carpentry knowledge (Plus)
• Experience in the building materials industry (Plus)
• Excellent hand and eye coordination and attention to detail is necessary skills to have.
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
