Job summary

Specialty Building Products is seeking a Production Team Lead to join our Values-based organization. Compensation starts at $21.50 per hour, based on experience and skill level.

The role focuses on leading the production team, maintaining stock, guiding training, and improving processes across the manufacturing floor. You will mentor new employees, collaborate with the supervisor, and contribute to safety and quality standards at SBP.

• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stocking at workstations and weekly raw-material inventory.
• Coordinate with Supervisor on items needed to complete tasks.
• Mentor new employees in production zone per policies.
• Serve as SME for production processes and cross-training.
• Study and recommend procedures to improve efficiency.
• Advise Production Supervisor on training progress and performance.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Production Team Lead to join our VALUES based organization. Compensation starting at $21.50 per hour, based on experience and skill level. In this role you will focus on:

Responsibilities:

• Assist with keeping workstations stocked with consumables and participate in taking weekly inventory of raw materials used in the department.
• Work with Supervisor to identify items needed for co-workers within the department to complete their daily tasks
• Mentors' new employees within production zone to adhere to production policies and procedures.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for all processes and procedures within their production area, making themselves available for cross training and serving on teams that require their expertise.
• Studies and recommends new procedures to improve efficiency of processes and procedures.
• Advises Production Supervisor on training progress and performance concerns of employees within their areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Manufacturing experience of doors (Plus)
• Carpentry knowledge (Plus)
• Experience in the building materials industry (Plus)
• Excellent hand and eye coordination and attention to detail is necessary skills to have.
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
