Job summary

FCA Packaging is seeking a Production Lead to supervise manufacturing operations at our embedded customer facility. The role demands strong leadership, customer service, and daily production management while upholding quality and safety standards.

Shift times include 8:00–4:30 for 1st shift and 4:00–12:30 for 2nd shift; candidate will oversee crates production, manage orders, and ensure OSHA-compliant practices on site.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and interpreting prints and part lists.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service abilities.
• Ability to operate basic shop tools and maintain safe practices.
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage materials and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production at the embedded Caterpillar facility and ensure quality.
• Manage special orders and verify accuracy against blueprints and bills.
• Order and receive lumber and hardware for production needs.
• Maintain organized inventory and ensure safety compliance on the line.

Job description

FCA Packaging, a leader in innovative wood packaging solutions, seeks a Production Lead to oversee manufacturing operations at our embedded customer facility. This role requires strong leadership, customer service skills, and the ability to manage daily production while maintaining quality and safety standards.

1st shift is currently from 8am to 4:30pm
2nd shift is currently from 4pm to 12:30am

Team Leadership & Customer Relations:

• Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence within the Caterpillar facility.
• Ensure clear communication with the customer and internal teams.

Production Tasks & Management:

• Oversee and assist with the manufacturing of crates, ensuring products meet blueprint specifications.
• Manage special orders, ensuring accuracy with provided prints and part lists.
• Order and receive lumber and hardware for production needs.
• Maintain organization of inventory and production supplies.

Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce all safety protocols and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Identify and address equipment maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, properly disposing of scraps.

Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and using nail guns, tape measures, and other tools.
• Ability to operate a forklift and manage material movement efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills with initiative and drive.
• Construction and/ or building experience
• Computer competency.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
