Job summary

FCA Packaging is seeking a Production Lead to oversee manufacturing operations at our embedded customer facility. The role requires strong leadership, customer service, and the ability to manage daily production while maintaining quality and safety standards.

1st shift 8:00–4:30, 2nd shift 4:00–12:30. You will lead teams, coordinate with Caterpillar, and ensure crates are built to blueprint specifications while maintaining inventory, safety, and efficient material movement.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate strong leadership and customer service skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and use common shop tools and power tools.
• Experience operating a forklift and managing material flow.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence within the Caterpillar facility.
• Ensure clear communication with the customer and internal teams.
• Oversee manufacturing of crates and ensure blueprint conformance.
• Manage special orders with accurate prints and part lists.
• Order lumber and hardware; manage inventory and supplies.
• Enforce safety protocols and PPE usage; address equipment maintenance.
• Maintain clean, organized workspace and proper scrap disposal.

This role requires strong leadership, customer service skills, and the ability to manage daily production while maintaining quality and safety standards.

1st shift is currently from 8am to 4:30pm 2nd shift is currently from 4pm to 12:30am Team Leadership & Customer Relations:

• Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence within the Caterpillar facility.
• Ensure clear communication with the customer and internal teams.

Production Tasks & Management:

• Oversee and assist with the manufacturing of crates, ensuring products meet blueprint specifications.
• Manage special orders, ensuring accuracy with provided prints and part lists.
• Order and receive lumber and hardware for production needs.
• Maintain organization of inventory and production supplies.

Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce all safety protocols and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Identify and address equipment maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, properly disposing of scraps.

Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and using nail guns, tape measures, and other tools.
• Ability to operate a forklift and manage material movement efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills with initiative and drive.
• Construction and/ or building experience
• Computer competency.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
