Job description

This role accelerates business value by having the responsibility of this position to bag and/or stack ice on pallets.

Leads, collaborates, and demonstrates lean principles and utilizes lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees, and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Leads and participates in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stack a variety of products, ranging from 5lb to 40lb bags onto standard pallets, ensuring neatness and proper square stacking. Help monitor product quality, including bags not properly tied, foreign objects, yellow ice, and deviations from standards.
• Learn to start and stop the line as needed. Keep the area safe and report potential hazards to the supervisor. Clean immediate work area and entire facility according to the Master Cleaning Schedule.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exercise some decision-making ability. Occasionally shut down the line when defects are noted or safety violations observed. Work in a safe and responsible manner to protect personnel and property.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required, with basic math skills and the ability to complete simple paperwork.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift and stack up to 45lbs throughout a 12-hour shift. Ability to work in a room with temperatures of 45–60 degrees. Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to stand and walk. Vision abilities needed include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
