Job description

With operations in California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, we manufacture softwood and hardwood lumber, particleboard, and hardboard siding.

Position Summary:

The Labor Production position is an entry-level opportunity introducing the employee to the basic components of either the particleboard or hardboard facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
2. Clean facilities including production areas, breakrooms, and restrooms.
3. Sweep and shovel including scrap, debris, wood pieces, broken boards, and sawdust.
4. Lift, flip, pull, and push composite panel materials.
5. Operate a full wheelbarrow and/or wheeled tote to clean and haul waste materials.
6. Use air to blow down and clean up floors and equipment.
7. Use hand and power tools such as a circular saw to break up materials for removal.
8. Use grounds maintenance tools like weed eaters and lawn mowers around the facilities.
9. Assist operators as needed.
10. Begin to learn basic operator roles and responsibilities.
11. Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
12. On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.

Position Requirements:

Must meet position requirements to be considered a candidate for this position.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools preferred.
• Prior experience in industrial manufacturing, mill work, agriculture, or construction preferred.
• Ability to follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.

Environmental Conditions:

May be exposed to dust, noise, trip hazards, and variable weather conditions.

Required Personal Protective Equipment:

Willingness to wear PPE such as high-visibility garments, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, hard hats, foot protection, and face shields as required.
