As of July 1, the anticipated hiring range for the Parks Laborerposition is $18.36(first step) to $19.28or $20.24(second or third step).The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, andqualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act.Threesteps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at work sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and wind.
Moderate physical demands associated with landscape maintenance and facility maintenance. The position may lift objects that weigh up to 75 pounds, walks, and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints, or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
