Job summary

Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. (AFNA) is seeking a sanitation worker to maintain clean production floors, remove waste, and assist during contamination or changeovers.

The role requires willingness to be trained on chemicals, strict adherence to GMP, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and to wear required PPE. You must operate pallet jacks and move barrels as needed. Preferred candidates have a HS Diploma or GED and can thrive in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment with minimal supervision.

• Palletjack certification or training.

Responsibilities

• Keep production floors clean and remove waste from the area.
• Shovel scrap into barrels and move barrels with a pallet jack.
• Track waste weights and record them accurately.
• Follow GMP, SSOP, SOP, HACCP and SQF requirements; wear PPE.
• Take out trash and dispose in appropriate containers.
• Be trained to mix/use cleaning chemicals for contamination/changeovers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

Cleans floors, dumps trash carts, move barrels of waste from production area, be able to clean a line with chemicals in the event of contamination or changeovers.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• When product falls on floor, uses a squeegee to scrape up scrap
• Responsible for shoveling scrap into barrels
• Need to remove barrels from the area when half to ¾ full, by loading barrels onto a skid
• Tracking and recording of accurate waste weights
• Use a palletjack to move skid with barrels to slop area for sanitation to empty
• Take out trash carts full of empty boxes, plastic or other items and put into appropriate disposable containers
• If not already trained, you will need to be willing to be trained on how to use and mix the different chemicals to clean a line for contamination or changeovers
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Temperatures in the cooking area can exceed 80 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’s SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF and Quality requirements
