Dynamic Source Manufacturing in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Production Support Team Lead to oversee a production area, guide staff, and drive Lean initiatives. You will ensure efficiency, monitor day-to-day operations, and coordinate with support departments to meet customer delivery priorities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience, strong problem-solving, and solid communication skills. Overtime may be required as part of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years on-the-job training/experience.
• Leadership or involvement in continuous improvement programs is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving ability using root cause analysis.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and databases.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Able to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Willing to work periodic overtime.

Responsibilities

• Participate in implementing and sustaining Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Improve Group Leader Standard Work and provide feedback.
• Monitor daily production area performance including output, service, priorities, scrap, quality, and processes.
• Drive efficiency targets and pursue continuous improvement.
• Manage shift priorities, deliveries, and staffing to meet deadlines.
• Ensure procedures are followed using required materials and tools.
• Communicate shift changes and priorities to peers.
• Collaborate with other group leaders and support departments to meet DSM goals.
• Interpret Quality IPC and customer requirements in absence of QA and report issues.
• Oversee training of employees and address training gaps with coaching.
• Work with Production Manager to resolve issues and conflicts.
• Advocate for DSM health and safety program and interpret SDS.

The Opportunity

The Production Group Leader oversees all production related functions of a specific production area, product or department. The Group Leader supports and gives direction and guidance to production employees so they can perform work effectively and efficiently. Group Leaders help resolve internal or external issues to the department while bringing continuity between shifts and departments. Responsibilities

• Active participant in implementing, improving and sustaining Lean Manufacturing methodologies
• Adhere to and provide feedback on how to improve Group Leader Standard Work
• Monitor all daily functions of their production area with respect to production output, customer service, daily priorities, scrap management, quality and production processes
• Ensure efficiency targets are being met and constantly looking to improve them
• Monitor and manage shift priorities, deliveries and setting up staff accordingly to meet deadlines
• Ensure employees follow established procedures throughout manufacturing processes using required materials and tools
• Perform shift change communication with peers outlining work accomplished, work load, production issues and delivery priorities
• Work collaboratively with support departments and other group leaders in the attainment of DSM’s business goals
• Able to interpret Quality "IPC" and customer requirements to make off shift calls in the absence of QA and report issues when support arrives
• Oversee the training for all employees in specific area(s) – identifying and addressing training requirements/gaps, coaching and providing continuous feedback to ensure employees understand what required skills and knowledge they need to effectively perform work
• Collaborate with the Production Manager to resolve minor issues or conflict within the teams
• Advocate for DSM’s health and safety program – ensuring all safety guidelines are being followed, interpreting safety data sheets (SDS) for employees and making recommendations to current processes
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with DSM’s policies and applicable laws

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of on the job training/experience
• Previous leadership, project management or involvement in continuous improvement programs is an advantage
• Analytical and strong problem solver – able to identify, elevate and effectively resolve issues using root cause analysis tools
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Able to learn and become proficient in the use of an ERP system and other databases
• Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills - ability to clearly and concisely convey information in a timely and accurate manner
• Excellent organizational skills – ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and perform tasks efficiently
• Self-directed and can work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
• Available for periodic overtime.
