Job summary

Greater Omaha Packing Co., Inc is seeking Production General Labor team members to support daily operations in our beef processing facility. Roles include work in Harvest, Fabrication, Ground Beef, Packaging, or other production areas based on needs.

You will rotate between jobs and must be able to handle the physical demands of a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include cutting, trimming, fabricating, processing, and packaging beef products, along with using knives, hooks, and powered

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willing to work with sharp knives, cutting tools, hooks, saws, and/or powered equipment.
  • Able to stand for the duration of the shift on concrete floors or platforms.
  • Capable of performing repetitive hand, wrist, and grasping motions.
  • Able to reach for product on conveyors, boxes, bags, or other materials.
  • Willing to work in physically demanding conditions and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, fabricate, process, or package beef on a production line.
  • Use knives, hooks, cutting tools, saws, and other powered equipment.
  • Lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs (some positions up to 100 lbs) and work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Rotate between jobs as needed and maintain scheduled hours including overtime.
  • Follow safety, sanitary, humane handling, and regulatory standards.

Pay

Starting pay of $19.65 to $21.00 per hour; top pay up to $32.10 per hour. Pay includes a $1.00 perfect attendance incentive.

Position Summary

Production General Labor team members support daily operations in our beef processing facility. This role may include work in Harvest, Fabrication, Ground Beef, Packaging, or other production areas depending on business needs. Team members should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and must be willing to rotate between jobs as needed.

Responsibilities may include cutting, trimming, fabricating, processing, packaging, moving product, and using tools or equipment such as knives, hooks, saws, or other powered equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cut, trim, fabricate, process, or package beef products in a production line setting.
  • Use knives, hooks, cutting tools, saws, wizard knives, or other powered equipment.
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.; some positions may require pushing, pulling, orlifting upto 100 lbs.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, reach, grasp, push, pull, walk, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Work at a steady pace in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Follow all safety practices, sanitary procedures, humane handling requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Rotate between jobs as needed.
  • Work all scheduled hours, including weekdays, Saturdays, weekends, and overtime asrequired.
Skills and Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Must be able to reach for product on conveyor belts, boxes, bags, or other materials.
  • Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Must be willing to wear all required PPE, which may include a hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, face mask, face shield, steel-toed rubber boots or closed-toe shoes, frock, gloves, mesh gloves or aprons, and other required safety equipment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Knife skills arepreferred, butnotrequiredunless assigned to a knife position.
Schedule

1st or 2nd Shift. Typical Monday through Friday. Fridays, Saturdays, and overtime may be vary based on production needs.

  • Work may take place in cold, damp, wet, or humid conditions, including areas near or below freezing.
  • Some areas may include unpleasant odors, livestock harvesting, or work in and around bloody areas.
  • Harvest areas may include extreme heat, up to 104 degrees.
  • Some work areas are loud, and hearing protection isrequired.
  • Team members may stand for extended periods on concrete floors, elevated platforms, or production platforms.
  • This role requires repetitive hand, wrist, and body movements throughout the shift.

This is a physically demanding position in a production environment. New employees may require several weeks to adjust to the pace, temperature conditions, physical requirements, and work environment.
