Job summary

AJM Packaging Corporation is seeking a Production Foreman to supervise a department and shift, ensuring production uptime, throughput, and quality. The role includes planning, staff instruction, performance reviews, safety enforcement, and coordinating materials and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three years or more of supervisory experience preferred.
• Five years or more of high-speed manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must have high-speed manufacturing experience.
• Be mechanically inclined with experience using common hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage a department and/or shift to maximize production uptime and throughput in quantity and quality.
• Supervise staff: assign work, provide instruction, review work, and assist with performance appraisals.
• Monitor equipment performance and product quality; identify issues and take corrective action.
• Ensure staff adheres to safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
• Track inventory levels of supplies and procure necessary items or provide recommendations.
• Provide training and development for staff.
• Complete other duties deemed necessary by Managers.
• Enforce corporate and plant quality standards.

AJM Packaging Corporation, one ofAmerica’sleading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags,is seekinga Production Foreman to add to our growing team!The Production Foremanis responsible forsupervising a specific department and/or shift andassistwith directly overseeing andparticipatingin all activities related to the effective operation of that department and/or shift.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing a department and/or shift in such a manner as to ensure that production machinery uptime and production throughput is maximized – in quantity and quality.
• Responsible for supervising staff to include but not limitedto:designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and providing input for performance appraisals.
• Responsible for monitoring equipment to ensure satisfactory performance and continually checking the quality of the finished product. Note any trouble source or issue and take the necessary corrective action(s).
• Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
• Be aware of how to track inventory levels of supplies. Order or make procurement recommendationsforany supplies, tools, replacementpartsorsimilar itemsneeded.
• Provide continuing oversight andtrainingofstafftoincrease their levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Complete all other dutiesdeemednecessary by Managers.
• Enforce corporate and plant quality standards.
