Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three years or more of supervisory experience preferred.
• Five years or more of high-speed manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Must have high-speed manufacturing experience.
• Be mechanically inclined with experience using common hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage a department and/or shift to maximize uptime and throughput.
• Supervise staff: assign work, provide instruction, and participate in performance reviews.
• Monitor equipment and quality of finished products; identify issues and take corrective action.
• Ensure staff follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Track inventory levels and recommend procurement for supplies and parts.
• Provide ongoing training to increase staff knowledge and skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Managers.
• Enforce corporate and plant quality standards.

Position Overview –

AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’s leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags, is seeking a Production Foreman to add to our growing team! The Production Foreman is responsible for supervising a specific department and/or shift and assist with directly overseeing and participating in all activities related to the effective operation of that department and/or shift.

Responsibilities & Duties –

• Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing a department and/or shift in such a manner as to ensure that production machinery uptime and production throughput is maximized – in quantity and quality.
• Responsible for supervising staff to include but not limited to: designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and providing input for performance appraisals.
• Responsible for monitoring equipment to ensure satisfactory performance and continually checking the quality of the finished product. Note any trouble source or issue and take the necessary corrective action(s).
• Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
• Be aware of how to track inventory levels of supplies. Order or make procurement recommendations for any supplies, tools, replacement parts or similar items needed.
• Provide continuing oversight and training of staff to increase their levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Complete all other duties deemed necessary by Managers.
• Enforce corporate and plant quality standards.
