Job summary

BlockReel seeks a skilled 1st AC for an upcoming independent feature in the Nashville area. You will maintain and pull focus, assist the DP with lens changes, and ensure all camera equipment is handled professionally on set.

We expect significant feature film experience with cinema cameras (ARRI, RED, Sony Venice) and require you to bring your own follow focus system and essential tools. Plan is for 25–30 shooting days with prep starting Nov 8, 2026.

Job description

Our upcoming independent feature film, a suspenseful psychological thriller with elements of Southern Gothic, needs a skilled 1st AC. This project explores themes of isolation and paranoia in a rural setting, promising a visually rich and intense experience. We are shooting entirely on location in Nashville and surrounding areas. You'll be responsible for maintaining focus, pulling focus on set, assisting the DP with lens changes, and ensuring all camera equipment is handled professionally. We're looking for someone with significant feature film experience, particularly with cinema cameras (ARRI, RED, Sony Venice preferred). Please have your own follow focus system and essential tools. We're planning for approximately 25-30 shooting days, with prep starting around November 8, 2026. Hours will be standard 10-12 hour days. Production will provide camera packages, transportation to locations, and meals.

Budget Range

$500-800/day
