Job summary

Montana Department of Corrections is seeking an Inmate Production Officer to oversee the daily operation of the manufacturing center. You will supervise inmate workers, manage workflow, and ensure inventory control and safe use of tools and equipment on the production floor.

The role emphasizes maintaining high safety and quality standards, communicating updates to management, and modeling professional conduct while enforcing all MCE policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience directing the work of others.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Guide inmates through daily production tasks on the floor.
• Coordinate with department staff and customers.
• Create and teach production layouts for operations.
• Lead safety and quality training for crews.
• Assist customers with designs, orders, installation, and related tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
