Job summary

Clayton Homes is seeking a Department Manager / Area Coordinator to lead daily activities across production departments and drive a world-class manufacturing environment in Haleyville, Alabama. This full-time role reports to the Operations Manager and requires strong planning, communication, and safety leadership.

You will onboard and develop team members, enforce safety standards, manage orders and traveler sign-offs, and pursue continuous improvements while maintaining Clayton's commitment to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Experience in manufactured housing desired.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities and resources of all assigned production departments.
• Enforce Clayton's safety culture and audit program.
• Onboard and develop new hires; track progress in the Responsibility Matrix.
• Communicate data during daily huddles and meetings.
• Coach and counsel team members; apply progressive discipline when needed.
• Read and check off orders and ensure traveler sign-off.
• Maintain clean, well-organized departments with Clayton Clean standards.
• Support ISO14001 initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
