Job summary

Sierra Sheet & Plate Inc in Covington, GA seeks a hands-on Production Supervisor to manage plant departments, enforce safety and SOPs, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor. The role collaborates with the Director of Operations and leads training initiatives for staff and safety certifications.

Candidate will engage in daily production planning, quality control, and staff development, with occasional long hours and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing leading experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Promotes continuous improvement culture.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must be able to speak fluent English.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production departments on the manufacturing floor.
• Enforce safety procedures and operating instructions.
• Collaborate with Directors to improve quality and efficiency of processes/products.
• Review work orders and ensure inspection to verify conformance.
• Participate in daily production meetings to plan and execute requirements.
• Support forklift certification trainings (Train the Trainer).
• Coordinate with Human Resources on staffing, performance feedback and training.
• Assist other departments on a supervisory level as needed.
