Job summary

Wilbert Precast in Spokane, WA is seeking a Production Floor Area Lead to oversee daily operations in the customs area. You will coordinate tasks, monitor quality, and ensure safety and efficiency on the production floor.

You will lead by example, train staff, address delays, and collaborate with supervision to improve workflows while upholding company standards and OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing, production, precast concrete, or related industrial environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read production drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Forklift, rigging, or crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily production activities within the customs area.
  • Assign tasks and prioritize workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Monitor production quality and ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
  • Assist with setup, forming, pouring, stripping, finishing, and other precast production activities as needed.
  • Identify and communicate production delays, material shortages, or operational concerns.
  • Lead and support production employees through daily direction, training, and coaching.
  • Promote a positive team environment focused on accountability, safety, and productivity.
  • Assist in training new employees on production procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
  • Serve as a point of contact for production questions and problem-solving on the floor.
  • Work closely with supervisors and management to improve workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Always enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote safe work practices and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and applicable safety regulations.

The Production Floor Area Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily production operations within the custom products division at Wilbert Precast. This hands-on leadership role supports production employees, ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintains quality and production standards throughout the manufacturing process. This position serves as the primary lead on the production floor for the customs area, assisting with scheduling, workflow coordination, training, troubleshooting, and communication between production staff and management. This position is expected to lead by example, promote teamwork and accountability, and help drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and oversee daily production activities within the customs area.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Forklift, rigging, or crane experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery used in precast production.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely navigate production areas and work around heavy equipment and machinery.
