Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) invites you to join our team in Columbus, IN for a Summer 2027 Production Engineering Intern role. You will tackle a hands-on project, applying PDCA to improve processes and learn TPS concepts to optimize material flow and lead times.

You will work with mentors and leaders, gaining exposure to continuous improvement, safety, quality, and teamwork within a real manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• GPA of at least 3.0 required.
• Enrolled in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar field with applicable experience.
• Hands-on mindset with an interest in manufacturing.
• Ability to read layouts and design fixtures/tools using CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Complete a summer project using the PDCA method focused on process improvement in the manufacturing facility.
• Analyze and improve production processes to boost efficiency and resource use.
• Support safety and quality initiatives through continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive productivity and deliver value.
• Help implement process controls and standardization for consistency.
