Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at our Columbus, IN site. You will join the Manufacturing Engineering team, work on meaningful projects, and gain insights into mechanical and industrial engineering principles with mentors and leadership.

You will apply Toyota Production Principles to boost efficiency and quality while collaborating across departments and potentially earning forklift certification.

Qualifications

• GPA of at least 3.0
• Currently enrolled in an engineering or technical degree program
• Ability to understand layouts and design fixtures/tools in Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Catia
• Previous internship, work experience, or club activity showing hands-on learning
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Columbus, IN for Summer 2027
• Summer internship may extend to a co-op for the right candidate

Responsibilities

• Complete a summer project using the PDCA methodology focused on process improvement in the manufacturing facility.
• Implement a project solving a real-world production floor problem: investigate, design, prototype, and implement.
• Collaborate with multiple operations departments to drive productivity and value.
• Learn and apply Toyota Production Principles to improve efficiency and quality.
• Opportunity to become forklift certified.
