Job summary

Huntsman in Conroe, TX seeks a Production Engineer Team Lead to guide a five-person engineering group and ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations across the site.

The role reports to the Senior Operations Manager and focuses on supervising day-to-day activities, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to drive performance metrics. A chemical engineering background and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering required; 8+ years in chemical plant manufacturing or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience leading diverse, high-performing teams, including engineers.
• Experience with SAP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the production engineers team; assign projects, ensure workflow, mentor staff, and conduct evaluations.
• Serve as technical advisor to the Senior Operations Manager.
• Perform duties of a production engineer as a working supervisor supporting day-to-day activities.
• Manage front-end process functions for the plant.
• Facilitate process priority setting for plant management.
• Collect and evaluate incoming process suggestions.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams, including production meetings, process-improvement teams, month-end close, and metric reviews.
• Participate in and conduct scope and process reviews.
• Review and develop process justifications.
• Develop process overview presentations for plant and senior management.
• Actively seek opportunities to improve problem solving and plant performance.
• Adjust priorities and activity to meet dynamic site needs.

Production Engineer Team Lead

Huntsman is seeking a Production Engineer Team Lead supporting the Performance Products Division located in Conroe, Texas. This position will report to the Senior Operations Manager.

Job Scope

This position has the principal plant responsibility for the technical support, monitoring and improvement of production units at the entire site to ensure they are operated and produced in accordance with established procedures and within acceptable limits.

This position will supervise a team of five production engineers to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the assigned units.

In summary, as the Production Engineer Team Lead, you will:

• Supervise the Huntsman Production Engineers team. Assign projects, ensure workflow, guide and mentor production engineers, and conduct performance evaluations.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering preferred, with 8+ years of related experience in Chemical plant manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading diverse, high-performing teams, including engineers.
• Experience with SAP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Experience with process optimization preferred.
