Huntsman in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor for the Night Shift to lead daily plant operations, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure on-time completion of production plans.

Job Description: Production Supervisor - Night Shift

Huntsman is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor supporting the Advanced Materials Americas Division located in Rock Hill SC. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Job Scope

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing, organizing, and overseeing the day-to-day production of the plant. The Production Supervisor ensures that all processes are operated in accordance with established safety, quality, and production standards. Completes related paperwork and support duties. Communicates with the Supply Chain Department and/or other departments to ensure that supplies and inventory are at appropriate levels. Assists with other production activities as needed and evaluate production employees. In summary, as the Production Shift Supervisor, you will: Drive ZERO Harm Culture in the facility. Updates visual management boards. Assumes responsibility for organizing, directing, and overseeing the correct and timely completion of the various production functions as assigned by the Production Manager. Responsible for efficient use of manpower and scheduling of OT as needed. Completes related paperwork and reports. Maintains consumable stocks and purchases hoses, fittings, screens, and filter parts for the facility. Adheres to the production schedule based on forecasts by Plant Manager. Maintains plant housekeeping program. Ensure that established production procedures and instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and quality and safety standards are followed. Keeps the Production Manager informed of any significant concerns and identifies problems and provides suggestions . Attend all necessary meetings as required. Supervises, councils, trains, and develops production operators in the operation of production processes and waste-water activities. Maintains work area and equipment in a safe, operational, and orderly condition. Performs incident investigations and entry of incident information in site database. Maintains accurate and up-to-date information in downtime records. Maintains accurate Workday information for payroll. Maintains processes at a designated rate to produce quality products at standard cost. Maintains working knowledge of all active processes including analytical methods and techniques. Maintains good working relationships and communications with other shifts to promote continuity and efficient transfer of duties between shifts. Submits routine work requests for process, wastewater, and safety equipment repairs. Submits ideas that result in improved processing techniques, equipment, and manpower utilization, and cost control. Ensure proper employee evaluation, disciplinary actions, and training requirements are met. Keeps production records, maintains logbooks, and communicates fully to all plant departments as required. Maintains an overtime list and calls out operators or maintenance to maintain uninterrupted production. Implements safety and housekeeping programs on shift and submits incident reports as required. Maintains overall plant security. Maintains an atmosphere where a shift technician will freely and willingly contribute ideas that result in improved safety, production, and morale. Implements waste disposal standard procedures and ensure that they are adhered to. Will act as an emergency coordinator when Emergency Action Plan or Contingency Plan is implemented on off shifts. Conducts critical item inspection on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications

Skills and knowledge

Chemical Manufacturing experience with increasing responsibilities including supervisory or other leadership experience is required. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels on a wide variety of topics necessary for supervising a shift. Strong safety history of promoting employee commitment, participation, and adherence to company policies. Excellent problem‑solving and solid decision‑making skills. Demonstrated ability to remain organized and positive. Ability to lead and be successful in a team environment. Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. SAP experience a plus, but not required. Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during employment. Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and teamwork are critical for job success. Requires personal initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing plant or similar environment. First Aid, CPR, AED Certified are preferred but not required.

Working Environment

This position may require some involvement with materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). This involvement may require an understanding of applicable rules and procedures associated with RCRA waste. A combination of training methods, e.g., Computer‑based Training, Classroom, and/or On‑the‑job training, will be provided prior to any such involvement with RCRA regulated waste.
