Job description

Geek+ is a global leader in robotic solutions for logistics. We develop Autonomous Mobile-Robot (AMR) solutions to realize flexible, reliable, and highly efficient automation for warehouses and supply chain management by automating various laborious tasks like picking, moving, and sorting. We’ve led the global AMR market share for three consecutive years, being declared the world’s no.1 AMR leader. (Source: Interact Analysis). The North American headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia will continue to power our growth in Canada, United States and Mexico. To meet the demand for its solutions we are looking to add a talented and driven Production Engineer to our Atlanta team.

Life at Geekplus

Plain and simple, we’re a team of geeks who love technology and teamwork. We work together to meet any customer needs; we celebrate our wins and learn from our misses. The only thing better than seeing customer operations improved by our technology, is seeing it happen at scale! We are biased to action, getting it done and thinking differently about how we apply technology. We support each other and we’re empowered to win. Our strength comes from our different backgrounds and perspectives.

The Job

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, this position will work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams in China, as well as local Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Operations teams, to establish and scale a reliable manufacturing operation supporting Geekplus’ growing North American business.

The Production Engineer is responsible for establishing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing and assembly processes for robotic products at our local factory. This role will define production layouts, assembly processes, work instructions, tooling and equipment requirements, and production standards to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent operations.

The Production Engineer will play a key role in transferring manufacturing processes from China to the U.S., supporting the setup and ramp‑up of local production, and training internal employees and third‑party assemblers. The role will also drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and manufacturing capability as production scales.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize the factory layout and production line layout for robot assembly, testing, material flow, and work‑in‑process (WIP).
  • Define and document robot assembly processes, including assembly sequence, workstation design, tooling, fixtures, and material handling requirements.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process flow charts, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Transfer manufacturing processes and technical requirements from the China manufacturing team to the U.S. factory.
  • Train and qualify internal and third‑party assemblers on assembly procedures, tools, quality requirements, and safety practices.
  • Provide hands‑on support during new product introduction, production ramp‑up, and first builds.
  • Identify production bottlenecks, quality risks, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate assembly‑related issues and coordinate corrective actions with Engineering, Quality, and China manufacturing teams.
  • Support selection and implementation of assembly tools, fixtures, equipment, and production infrastructure.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety and quality requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering, preferably involving electromechanical products, robotics, automation equipment, or industrial equipment.
  • Experience developing assembly processes, factory/line layouts, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Strong hands‑on problem‑solving skills and ability to support production directly on the factory floor.
  • Experience training production operators or technicians.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, line balancing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with international engineering and manufacturing teams.
Preferred
  • Experience with CAD/layout tools is preferred.
  • Experience in the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) industry is a plus.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing or outsourced production labor is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
