Job summary

RTX is seeking an onsite engineer/technician at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma to interpret technical data and guide engine/module build activities. You will define repair workscope, update work control documents, and support cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Requires a bachelor’s in engineering, 2+ years reading drawings, 1 year writing technical instructions, and U.S. citizenship. 1st shift (0700–1600) with overtime; onsite role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • At least 1 year of experience writing clear technical work instructions with cross‑functional collaboration.

  • U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Assist other production lines to ensure on‑time delivery across repair/overhaul (MRO).
  • Champion Environmental, Health & Safety best practices in a safe, compliant environment.

What You Will Do :

  • Develop and use standard work and desktop procedures that strengthen process consistency across HMC operations.
  • Support mechanic training by communicating new technical data and changes to work instructions.
  • Assist other production lines when required to ensure on‑time delivery across the repair, and overhaul (MRO) enterprise.
  • Champion Environmental, Health & Safety best practices so that all work is performed in a safe, compliant, and risk‑controlled environment.

What You Will Learn:

Hands‑on experience with advanced military engine platforms (F119, F117, F135)

Skill development in process control, technical root‑cause analysis, and MRO‑specific engineering.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline from an accredited institution required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working in a maintenance, MRO engine facility.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with gas‑turbine engine hardware, repair processes, or module configuration

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
