Job summary

American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, is seeking an entry level Production Engineer for our Jefferson City, MO plant. This onsite role reports to the Manufacturing Engineer and focuses on quality, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibilities include optimizing operations, leading root cause investigations, and driving improvements in productivity and cycle times. New graduates are welcomed and supported to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• New graduate or 1-2 years of engineering experience.
• Practical experience troubleshooting manufacturing problems and implementing corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enforce product quality inspection and testing requirements.
• Optimize plant operations to meet plant and business goals in asset capability, quality, and cost.
• Identify opportunities and implement changes in production methods, layouts, flow, and packaging to reduce cost and improve quality.
• Develop initiatives to improve productivity and first-pass yield.
• Develop programs to optimize producibility and reduce cycle time.
• Investigate non-conforming materials and report on issues.
