Job summary

American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer Manager to lead a team of design engineers at our Innovation Center in Jefferson City, MO.

You will design and develop plastic components and products with emphasis on functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness, collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will use CAD software to create 3D models and drawings, oversee prototyping, select materials, and drive design optimization while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or plastics engineering.
• 7+ years of experience with product design of plastic injection mold.
• Hands-on injection molding experience encouraged.
• Experience leading and developing a design team.
• Strong knowledge of CAD tools and prototyping techniques.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and DFA.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of design engineers at the Innovation Center in Jefferson City, MO.
• Design and develop plastic components with a focus on functionality, manufacturability and cost.
• Oversee CAD modeling, drawings, prototyping, and design validation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement and product management.
• Drive design optimization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and documentation standards.
