Job summary

AISIN Electronics IL is seeking a Production Engineer to lead manufacturing improvements, reduce downtime, and support new equipment and product launches. This role provides technical leadership and collaborates across departments to meet production and cost reduction goals.

The position requires knowledge of electronic automotive manufacturing, the Toyota Production System and JIT, and strong teamwork. Two-shift availability and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the reduction of unplanned downtime for mass production and new equipment.
  • Lead continuous improvement for mass production and new equipment.
  • Lead manufacturing feasibility of design changes and new designs.
  • Implement engineering changes based on drawing revisions and maintain current drawings for each product.
  • Waste reduction and cost reduction activities.
  • New Equipment Installation and Process Preparation including PPP & PPS, PFMEA, PV41 and PV42 activities.
  • Zero NG tracking with countermeasures follow-up.
  • Ensure production rates and machine cycle times meet targets.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of equipment for new product launches.
  • Facility planning, procurement, and management.
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and repair (mechanical and electrical).
  • Develop and document training for manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement actions.
  • Ensure plant and OSHA safety requirements and facilities support.
  • Coordinate with 3-Pillar Program and EPA compliance.
  • Meet department budget.
  • Perform duties in conformance to safety standards.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

AISIN Electronics is looking for a qualified Production Engineer to join the team!

SUMMARY

The Production Engineer at AISIN Electronics IL provides technical leadership and support to manufacturing operations with a focus on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and supporting new equipment and product launches. This role drives continuous improvement, ensures safety and quality compliance, and collaborates across departments to meet production and cost reduction goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for leading the reduction of unplanned downtime for mass production and new equipment
  • Responsible for leading the continuous improvement for mass production and new equipment.
  • Responsible for leading the manufacturing feasibility of design changes and new designs.
  • Responsible for implement engineering changes based on drawing revisions along with maintaining the most current drawings for each product
  • Responsible for waste reduction and cost reduction activities such as: activities including overproduction, muda, gourika, M0 / S 1/2, and other non value-added work.
  • New Equipment Installation and Process Preparation including the creation of the schedule, PPP &
    PPS, PFMEA, PV41 and PV42 activities.
  • Responsible for Zero NG activity - track all NG's with follow up of countermeasures.
  • Ensure that production rates and machine cycle times meeting company targets.
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of all equipment necessary to support new product launches.
  • Responsible for facility planning, procurement, and management.
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and repair (mechanical and electrical).
  • Develop and document training for manufacturing equipment and processes to ensure operators are properly trained to produce product.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement actions to build a quality product at lowest possible cost.
  • Ensure plant and OSHA safety requirements, production utilization goals, and facilities support is met through proper maintenance planning.
  • Coordinate with other sections to meet all requirements for the 3-Pillar Program.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure EPA compliance.
  • Responsible for meeting department budget.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Will perform other reasonably related tasks within the Company as required by the Supervisor or Management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Range

$76,250 - $90,250 Annually
